KOHIMA — Marking the 71st All India Cooperative Week, the office of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Kohima, distributed a total of 23 computer hardware to the beneficiary societies from Kohima and Tseminyu districts at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on Tuesday. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rhosietho Ngouri handed a monitor each to all the beneficiaries, while the remaining sets of computers along with printers, VPNs and sensors were handed to the beneficiaries later during the day. The distribution is a part of the project ‘Strengthening of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperatives (PACS) through computerisation’ aimed at enhancing their efficiency. In the first phase, a total of 33 functional PACS are being linked with NABARD through a single National Software Network and in the second phase, 198 PACS are to be brought under this project. Towards this, a total of INR 709.17 lakh to Nagaland state has been proposed by the central government for hardware purchase, digitisation and setting up support systems.
