DIMAPUR — The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has requested the urgent identification and finalisation of a new location for the public helipad in Kiphire district. In a letter to the deputy commissioner of Kiphire, the USSC stated that the current helipad, located in the heart of the town, poses significant obstacles to public development initiatives. These include the construction of high-rise buildings such as the District Treasury Office, District Industries Office, District Agriculture Office, District Water Resources Office, Cooperative Bank, GBs Customary Court, Sangtam Church, Ao Church, Cambridge School, and other private developments essential for the town’s growth and modernisation. “We earnestly request your esteemed office to prioritise the process of identifying and approving a suitable alternative site outside the town center. Relocating the helipad will not only alleviate the present constraints but also pave the way for systematic urban development and modernisation,” it read. It further mentioned that they would be glad to provide any additional support or collaboration required to facilitate the process.
