DIMAPUR — The 25th All India Police Band Competition commenced on Monday, with the Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, gracing the opening ceremony at the Drill Square, Assam Rifles Training Centre and School, Shokhuvi, Chümoukedima. Addressing the gathering, Ganesan said that the event celebrates not only the musical prowess of the police bands but also the spirit of unity, discipline, and dedication exhibited by their armed police forces. Ganesan stated that military and police bands have been a cornerstone of military tradition for centuries, serving multiple roles beyond music. He added that they play a crucial part in military structure, communication, morale, and national identity.
