DIMAPUR — The office of Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mokokchung, celebrated the 71st All India Co-operative Week on the theme ‘The role of co-operatives in building Viksit Bharat,’ on Monday. According to a DIPR report, the programme was held at the multi-purpose hall, Sangtemla Ward, Mokokchung town. Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, the guest of honour for the event, lauded the growth of local cooperatives and urged the beneficiaries to utilise digital tools. Emphasising equal rights in cooperative registration, the DC also encouraged startups to begin small but aim for long-term success. In her keynote address, sub-registrar of co-operative societies, Mokokchung, Bisarila L Sangtam, highlighted the significance and the role of co-operative societies in building Viksit Bharat. She said the objective of observing the cooperative week is to create awareness and opportunities for economic, agricultural and financial empowerment under the theme Viksit Bharat. The programme was chaired by the inspector of cooperative societies, Tsulensa Jamir, while short speeches were delivered by Supongchiten, chairman of Adianu Agri. and Allied Cooperative Ltd., Longsa village, and Poji, DDM, NABARD, Mokokchung.
