DIMAPUR — Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) has informed the public to comply with and maintain the demarcation. Defaulters or encroachers on public roads, footpaths, drains, etc., will do so at their own risk of losing property, land, or investment. In a notification, the CTC further stated that any resident, person, or agency encroaching on the notified areas will be liable to forceful eviction or demolition as provided by law. Reminding the orders issued on August 30, 2017, and May 31, 2017, regarding the encroachment of footpaths, sidewalks, or areas reserved for public facilities under the CTC, it was stated that the demarcated and notified areas reserved for public roads, including spaces for drains, footpaths, electric posts, water pipelines, OFC cables, etc., were resolved by the Chümoukedima Village Council in 1969, 1974, and 1995, and by the Chümoukedima Town Council in notifications dated July 1, 2006, and May 10, 2011.
