DIMAPUR — Nagaland Governor La. Ganesan and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio have extended greetings to the Sumi community as they celebrate Ahuna. “As we celebrate the culmination of a successful harvest season, may this festival remind us of the strength, unity, and traditions of our Sumi Naga community. Ahuna is a time to reflect on the blessings we’ve received, share in the joy of abundance, and honour the legacy of our ancestors”, the governor said in his message. He expressed hope that the festival would bring prosperity, good health, and lasting happiness. “Let the warmth of our traditions inspire us to come together, support each other, and nurture the spirit of togetherness,” he added. In a message on X, Rio wrote, “Wishing the Sumi community a joyous Ahuna. As we celebrate this post-harvest festival with thanksgiving, and invoke the Almighty for good fortune in the coming year, may our prayers be answered. May it also foster peace and unity.”
