DIMAPUR — Dimapur Japukong Senso Telongjem (DJST) on Saturday celebrated its golden jubilee at Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC) at Fellowship Colony on the theme “Molushiba” (Refine). Speaking at the celebration, the minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along, urged the gathering to strive living in harmony with people from Satsukba to Yajang village, acknowledging that challenges would always arise along the way. He added that the challenges were different for earlier generation as compared to present day especially with the advent of technology, information and knowledge readily accessible at their doorstep. Mentioning that there are many tribes in Nagaland, he said the Ao tribe is one among them comprising six ranges including the Japukong range. He encouraged the people of Japukong range to contribute for the growth of Ao community and the Naga people as a whole. He informed that maximum high-ranking officials from Japukong have now retired and that educated individuals are not applying for competitive exams.
