DIMAPUR — Lotha community across Nagaland celebrated Tokhu Emong, a post harvest festival, on Thursday with traditional fervour. The celebration saw presentation of cultural items and indigenous games. Wokha: The Tokhu Emong celebration at Wokha public ground concluded on Thursday with the Lok Sabha MP, S Supongmeren Jamir, as the special guest. Speaking at the event, Jamir greeted the Lotha community and highlighted the unique significance of Tokhu Emong. He praised the visionary Lotha ancestors for establishing a festival dedicated to forgiveness and renewing relationships. Noting that the present generation has lost true essence of the celebration, he urged the congregation to revisit the traditional practices and culture of their ancestors. Jamir lauded the skills and thoughtful actions of the Lotha community and urged them to remain united and foster positive competition to serve the Naga community and the Lothas in particular. He warned that division and misunderstanding within the Lotha community would affect not only them but the entire Naga society and the state.
