WOKHA — Cistus School Wokha (CSW) on Tuesday organised a cultural day at the school campus with Yanrenthung Humtsoe, chairman of Micro and Medium Enterprises, Promotion Council of India, Wokha, as the special guest of the event. In his address, Humtsoe, who is also the president of Wokha District Sports Association, said that culture is the identity of any community. He stated that celebration of cultural day by CSW showed the school’s priority in promoting culture and its identity besides textbook learning. Emphasising that education is an all-round development of personality and is not complete without co-curricular activities, he encouraged the school authorities and faculty to honour age-old traditions and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Lotha Naga community. Exhorting the students to actively participate in any given platform to boost their confidence, he urged them not to just attend the event for namesake but to inherit and learn the values of festival, unity, strengthening of brotherhood and relationship.
