JAMMU/SRINAGAR — The results of the J&K Assembly elections were announced on Tuesday, with the National Conference-led alliance winning 49 seats (NC won 42, INC – 6 and CPI-M – 1) in the 90-member house. The BJP came second with 29 seats, the PDP won three, and the AAP and Peoples Conference won one each. Seven independents were also elected.
