Sri Vijaya Puram, March 11: A delegation of Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by Shri K Chandrasekharan, President alongwith other senior members called on Admiral D K Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice-Chairman, Islands Development Agency today at Raj Niwas. Discussed operation of international flights and with increase in arrival of tourists by 41% during the previous year, the need to incentivize and expand such direct connections by providing subsidies/rebates specially on landing charge waiver from Ministry of Defence & concessions on Route Navigation and Facilitation Charge (RNFC), Terminal Landing Charges (TNLC) and also on User Development Fees (UDF) by Airport Authority of India. Route poised to gain traction in the medium to long term Global Island Tourism destination and airline hub among the Bay of Bengal Rim countries & the Indo-Pacific Region subsequently.
