The Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Rampur has been actively raising awareness among the people about adhering to the traffic rules and ensuring that necessary documents are in order. This initiative specially focused on pilgrims travelling for the Shrikhand Mahadev Yatra.

In the past month, the Rampur RTO has collected over Rs 4 lakh in fines for various violations under the Motor Vehicles Act. During the yatra (July 18- 25), regular checks were conducted on the pilgrimage route and Rs 1.65 lakh was collected in fines from 65 drivers for lacking necessary documents and other violations.

Regional Transport Officer Jaspal Singh Negi said the drivers were also educated about the importance of adhering to the Motor Vehicles Act and keeping necessary documents updated.
