New Delhi, July 26

Actor and the first-time MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut on Friday attacked the Congress-led state government in the Lok Sabha, alleging that due to its poor policies the state was yet to come out of the impact of the floods which had occurred last year.

Participating in the discussion on the Union Budget, Ranaut, the BJP MP thanked Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing a special relief fund for Himachal Pradesh to overcome the losses incurred due to the floods.

She said that due to the good work done by the erstwhile NDA government headed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the current Narendra Modi-led dispensation, a small state like Himachal Pradesh had good highway connectivity, open-defecation free villages and hydel projects, among other facilities.

The Budget, Kangana added, would power India towards becoming the world's third largest economy in near future.
