New Delhi, July 30
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said India is the fastest growing economy; and it has overcome after-effects of pandemic due to capex push.
In reply to the Budget discussion in Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said the FY25 Budget had not given lesser allocation to any sector compared to last year.
"We are complying with fiscal deficit trajectory; and will bring it down to below 4.5 per cent by 2025-6," she said, adding that, "We have provided substantial assistance to Jammu amp; Kashmir, including Rs 12,000 crore towards Jamp;K Police."
Replying to the charges that certain states had been discriminated against, she said if a state's name is not mentioned in the Budget speech, it doesn't mean that no money is given to them.
