The 42-year-old US Army veteran Shamsud-Din Jabbar drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, killing 14 people. The New Orleans attacker visited the city twice in the months prior to New Year's, using Meta smart glasses to film Bourbon Street and plan out the attack, FBI said. Jabbar stayed at a rental home in New Orleans from October 30 for a few days, and during that time recorded video as he bicycled through the French Quarter.
