The country's ten most valuable companies—including Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries and tech powerhouse TCS—now boast a combined valuation that's bigger than Saudi Arabia's entire GDP. According to Hurun’s 2024 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 list, these firms are flexing their financial muscle, proving just how massive India Inc has become.As per the report, the combined value of the top 10 companies increased by Rs 22.7 lakh crore to Rs 96 lakh crore, which is almost one-third of India’s GDP. While Reliance and TCS have topped the list, Mittal's Bharti Airtel has contributed the highest value in absolute terms, adding more than Rs 4 lakh crore in 2024. “The companies from 2024 Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 make up the ‘backbone’ of India's private sector, wielding significant economic influence. Between them, they have a cumulative valuation of US$3.8 trillion, which is more than India's annual GDP, and employ 8.4 million people.
