The miniratna company BEML on Monday reported a marginal decline of 0.75% in its profit after tax (PAT) on a year-on-year (YoY) basis at Rs 51.03 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024.The same stood at Rs 51.78 crore in the year-ago period.The company’s revenue from operations stood at Rs 859.84 for the reporting quarter, falling by 57% YoY against Rs 916.79 in the same quarter of the previous financial year.The company has turned profitable on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis as it reported a net loss of Rs 70.47 crore in the April-June quarter.BEML’s order book, which stood at Rs 11,818 crore at the beginning of the said quarter, was reported at Rs 11,453 crore, which constitutes orders worth Rs 2,784 crore executable in the current year and Rs 8,669 crore in the subsequent years.In the quarter ended September 2024, the company booked orders worth Rs 444 crore and executed orders worth Rs 811 crore.Meanwhile, BEML’s total income surged to Rs 14.86 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024, up from Rs 72.20 crore in the year-ago period while its expenses declined to Rs 819.96 crore from Rs 881.83 crore in the year-ago period.Also read: Biocon shares surge 5% after USFDA classifies Bengaluru site as VAIThe shares of BEML were trading flat at Rs 4,184 on the BSE around 1:45 pm, after the company announced its Q2 results.(Disclaimer: Recommendations, suggestions, views and opinions given by the experts are their own.
