HORSE RACING: Jockey James Bowen will miss the upcoming Cheltenham festival after receiving a seven-day ban for excessive whip use when riding Zestful Hope to victory at Hereford.
Bowen has ridden 68 winners this season and sits sixth in the jump jockeys’ championship.
In 2018, aged 16, he became the youngest jockey to win the Welsh Grand National when he steered Raz de Maree to victory.
