MEN’S FOOTBALL:

Barry Ferguson has been named as the interim manager at Rangers until the end of the season following Sunday’s sacking of Philippe Clement.

Ferguson is a former club captain who made over 430 appearances for the Ibrox club, scoring 60 goals in a career that saw him win all of the major domestic honours including five league titles and the Scottish players’ player of the year award in 2003.

MEN’S BOXING:

Japan’s unbeaten bantamweight Junto Nakatani stopped Mexico’s David Cuellar in the third round of their WBC title fight in Tokyo on Monday to improve his record to 30 wins, 23 by knock-out. Nakatani has also held world titles at fly and super flyweight levels.

On the undercard former undefeated kick boxing world champion Tenshin Nakasuwa out-pointed Australia’s one-time WBO bantamweight belt holder Jason Malloy.

MEN’S FOOTBALL:

2005 champions Wrexham host cup-holders and two-time winners Peterborough in Wednesday evening’s second semi of the English Football League Trophy.

Wednesday night’s winners will face Birmingham in April’s final at Wembley after the Blues edged out Bradford 2-1 last week.

The Football League Trophy is currently only open to League One and Two clubs along with the under 21 teams from the Premier League and Championship.

MEN’S BASKETBALL:

British international Ovie Soko will be missing from the London Lions team when the Super League table-toppers take on Manchester at the Copper Box Arena tomorrow evening.

Soko has received a three-match ban after his sending off against Leicester took him above 30 disciplinary points.

Manchester currently sit second bottom in the league and are without a head coach following the sacking of Callum Jones.
