AUSTRALIAN driver Jack Doohan will make his debut at the concluding race of the Formula One season in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Doohan, 21, will replace Esteban Ocon who is leaving Alpine to join Haas next season.
The decision means Ocon, who claimed Alpine’s sole victory in F1 so far at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix, will be free to drive for Haas at next week’s end-of-season test, also in Abu Dhabi.
Doohan has already been announced as an Alpine driver for 2025.
A statement from the French team read: “The team would like to thank Esteban for his time at the team and he will remain part of the team’s history achieving the first win for Alpine in Formula One.
“We wish Esteban the best for the future.”
