MEN’S CRICKET: Test cricket’s best two teams clash in Perth tomorrow as world number ones Australia take on India in the first of a five-match series.

India have picked up series wins on their last two trips to Australia but recently slumped to defeat in all three of their home Test matches against New Zealand.

Australia have not played a five-day series since winning 2-0 in New Zealand back in March.

MEN’S FOOTBALL: First-half goals from Jasper Payne, Ellis Sage and Tyler Brock helped Briton Ferry Llansawel to a surprise 3-1 win over defending champions The New Saints on Wednesday night that sees them climb off the bottom of the Cymru Premier and out of the relegation zone.

Newtown host Connah’s Quay in tomorrow evening’s fixture before The New Saints take on table-topping Penybont on Saturday afternoon.

HORSE RACING: City of Troy has been named as the British racehorse of the year despite failing at November’s Breeders Cup and finishing well down the field in May’s 2,000 Guineas.

The US-bred and Irish-trained three-year-old won seven of its nine races, including the 2024 Derby.

Kyprios, unbeaten in his seven races during 2024, was named as the best stayer with Bradsell picking up the sprinters’ award.

MEN’S RUGBY UNION: France have made four changes to the team that came from behind to earn a narrow 30-29 victory over New Zealand six days ago for tonight’s game against Argentina.

Number eight Gregory Alldritt, who captained the team during this year’s Six Nations, will be replaced by Charles Ollivon.

France are currently ranked as the world’s fourth-best team, one place above Argentina, who were edged out 22-19 in Ireland last Friday.
