A photographer travels to the South Pacific to grab a glorious shot of an annular eclipse, and English Heritage is asking for donations to help manage, restore and understand its immense collection. Plus, an affordable art auction during Frieze Week.

A curator with a small ivory pendant produced in the Netherlands in about 1500. Known as an example of a memento mori, or ‘remember death’ in Latin, this piece shows the two sides of human existence, juxtaposing life and death, in a gruesome way, to remind its owner to live a life free of sin. Photographed at Ranger's House in Greenwich, the home of the Wernher Collection.
