Skoda attempts to bring Enyaq brilliance to the smaller end of the SUV market
The new Skoda Elroq is the Czech marque’s second bespoke electric car and marks the firm’s assault on the compact crossover class, a move which it hopes will help bolster its position as Europe's fourth best-selling car brand.To you and me, this is effectively a Skoda Karoq with a battery-electric powertrain, and will be sold alongside the current ICE version. Skoda has already found success in the electric car market, with the Enyaq SUV climbing to the very top of EV sales charts – and was the biggest-selling electric car in October this year. But the Elroq’s task is undoubtedly harder as it's entering a segment that has mushroomed in popularity. And shows no signs of slowing down. There’s a plethora of rivals already baying for the attention of British buyers, such as the Ford Explorer, Volvo EX30 and inbound Kia EV3. Is the Elroq up to the task?
