When you’ve been around as long as Bernard Butler, you begin to notice a few things. Although the London-born musician made his name as a prodigious guitarist – initially with Suede in the 1990s, and later in partnerships and collaborations with the likes of David McAlmont (as McAlmont & Butler) and Edwyn Collins – he has also been a prolific songwriter and producer over the last three decades. Bands and artists from Pet Shop Boys to Tricky, the Libertines to Duffy, and the Cribs to Paloma Faith have all had their work sprinkled with Butler’s magic.
