How Manchester City was held hostage until Darlington railwaymen got their own engine

THERE was great fanfare on Tuesday as LNER unveiled its new engine called “Darlington” at Bank Top Station at the start of the year that commemorates the 200th anniversary of the Stockton & Darlington Railway.
