SUNDAY evening, May 17, 1987. Four up-and-coming Scottish bands are on the bill at Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre, at a Mayfest concert sponsored by McEwan’s Lager. The bands are Win, Hue and Cry, BMX Bandits, and Deacon Blue. Local newspaper critics are impressed by all four, but something about the Ricky Ross-fronted Deacon Blue definitely catches their eye.
