THIS undated picture from the early 1970s shows the creation of Odsal roundabout at Odsal Top.  A large sign says: City of Bradford Manchester Road Improvement Scheme. Starting summer 1971. The Top House pub looks very exposed so close to all the building works. Unlike many pubs, it has stood the test of time and is still open for business. Standing close to Odsal Stadium, which lies across the road to its right, the hostelry continues to be a popular drinking spot when sporting events are held. Without today’s health and safety restrictions, two pedestrians are having a good nosey at the works as they pass by. The cars are a good indication of the period - there’s a Mini to the right, a VW Beetle outside the pub and another Beetle heading along Rooley Avenue. And is that a Vauxhall Viva estate passing alongside the bus?
