Rescue teams called out to SAME reservoir as woman injured Mountain rescue teams were called out to the same reservoir in two days to help a woman who had suffered a leg injury. Members of Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue were scrambled just after 2pm on Thursday after being called to assist the North West Ambulance Service. A woman had slipped and suffered a leg injury close to Greenbooth Reservoir, Norden. A Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue spokesperson said: “As initial team members arrived at the location, the ambulance crew were also making their way to the casualty. “The casualty was provided with pain relief and the leg was splinted by the ambulance crew. As the team equipment arrived on scene the casualty was loaded into a large sleeping bag to stay warm, before being transferred onto our Bell Stretcher and Wheel for extraction along the path back to the awaiting ambulance.” On New Year’s Day another woman had to be rescued by mountain rescue teams after suffering a leg injury near the same reservoir.
