The Minories, in High Street, has closed its doors to the public this morning as its current 15-year-old boiler has now reached the end of its life. Emma Howe, of Colchester, is the director of The Minories and spoke to The Gazette in November about how it was appealing to raise funds for a new boiler otherwise it would have to close. The boiler, which is found in the Grade II listed building’s basement and was installed by Colchester Institute when it was operating in the building, is now obsolete.
