DELAYS in new homes being built on the former site of Colchester’s rugby club are costing “an unnecessary £2.5million per year” a senior councillor has claimed. Colchester Council is planning a 350-home development at the site once used by Colchester Rugby Club, off Mill Road. The development will include 105 social housing units, a healthcare campus with 300 homes for elderly residents, a 20-bed private surgical hospital, and a new medical centre offering GP services.
