The France head coach, Didier Deschamps, will step down when his contract expires after the 2026 World Cup. The 56-year-old took charge of the national team in 2012 and led Les Bleus to World Cup glory in 2018, becoming the third man to win the tournament as a player and a manager.
He told the French TV channel TF1: “I’ve been here since 2012, I’m scheduled until 2026, the next World Cup, but it will stop there because it has to stop at some point.”
