Donald Trump has threatened to target the EU next after announcing punishing import tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China, while warning that the UK is “out of line” but could still reach a deal. On Monday Trump and his Mexican counterpart, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced a one-month “pause” in the threatened tariffs after they had “a good conversation”. But much uncertainty remains.
