Brad Gushue was the first to secure a playoff berth at the Canadian men's curling championship with a 7-6 win over Alberta's Kevin Koe on Wednesday in Kelowna, B.C. Saskatchewan's Mike McEwen secured a spot later in the day with Alberta's Brad Jacobs.
