Dropped in on my favorite Canal St. vendor who I haven't seen since the Bourbon St. terror attack.

I was 'borrowed' to do the following: stood in a recently vacated parking space so he could park his van and helped him carry a product-laden vending table down the sidewalk.

I was blessed to top everything off by doing a Shahed Wali Muhammad (NOPD Ret.) memorial table watch while the vendor prayed inside his van.

We briefly discussed the Bourbon St terror attack and motive behind it.

While not as pious as my Brother the vendor, we both try to be contributors of solace, support and safety to a community where these qualities are in short supply.

His table is an oasis of calm and community-centered goods on a world famous street known for corporate commercialism and people in crisis.
