Climate activists gathered Sunday near Bell Park to push for a healthier planet as world leaders and other stakeholders continue to meet in Baku, Azerbaijain for COP 29. It was the 15th year for the Sudbury vigil, which first took place on the Bridge of Nations during the 2009 climate conference in Copenhagen. “While some progress has been made since that historic moment, it has not been enough,” said Citizens' Climate Lobby Greater Sudbury in a release. “The latest warnings from climate scientists, the mental health crisis among youth, and the soaring financial toll of climate impacts make it clear: we are failing our children.”
