Bobrisky, the controversial crossdresser, has revealed that her previous claim of being arrested by the Nigerian immigration authorities was an “April Fool’s prank”.
Earlier, Bobrisky had taken to social media to claim she was
arrested in Nigeria, leaving many of her fans and followers concerned.
“Guys, have just been arrested by immigration in Nigeria. I
don’t know what I did o,” she wrote.
However, in a follow-up post, the controversial social media celebrity revealed that she was simply playing a trick on her audience.
Bobrisky’s prank comes a few months after she had stated
that she left Nigeria to focus on her well-being.
The self-proclaimed transgender’s troubles date back to
April last year when she was arrested and sentenced to six months in prison for
abusing the naira.
After she was released, activist VeryDarkMan shared a
purported audio conversation wherein she claimed she paid some EFCC officials
N15 million to drop money laundering charges against her.
She also alleged that her “godfather”, alongside Haliru
Nababa, controller-general of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), ensured
she served the six-month sentence in a private apartment and not in prison.
Bobrisky denied the recording’s authenticity and threatened
legal action against VeryDarkMan.
The social media celebrity was arrested on October 21 at the
Seme border for allegedly attempting to flee the country. On November 1, the
crossdresser was re-arrested by EFCC officials while attempting to leave
Nigeria.
In a recent TikTok live session, Bobrisky announced her
relocation to an undisclosed country where she “is officially recognised as
female and receives the respect I deserve”.
She also vowed never to return to Nigeria.
“Nothing will bring me back to Nigeria. I am never living in
Nigeria. If I need to come to Nigeria, it will be visitation because this
country suit me,” she added.
