Portable, the controversial singer, is seeking the assistance of human rights activist Femi Falana in his ongoing legal battle with the Ogun state government.

The controversy began when officials from the Ogun state planning and development permit authority (OGPDPA) attempted to seal Portable’s bar due to a lack of approved permits and insufficient air space.

However, the singer allegedly assaulted the officials during the process.

The altercation led to the arrest and arraignment of nine of Portable’s associates on a five-count charge, including armed violence, felony, obstruction, assault, and intent to kill.

They were granted bail of N5 million each with sureties who are licensed bond agents registered with the state government.

The case was adjourned until March 17 for further hearing.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the singer, who has remained in hiding since then, expressed his desire for a “fearless lawyer” to represent him, citing Falana as his ideal choice.

Portable praised the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) as the “man of the people” for standing up for justice.

“God all I want his a fearless lawyer. People like daddy Falana, man of the people Ifalana,” he wrote
