Supporters of Mudashiru Obasa, impeached speaker of the
Lagos state house of assembly, thronged the speakers’ lodge at Joel Ogunnaike
street, Ikeja GRA, on Saturday morning.
The loyalists of the ex-speaker wore vests and caps with
Obasa’s photo emblazoned on them, while others held aloft placards, with one
reading ‘Obasa the undisputable’.
The former speaker made a grand entry, smiling and waving at
the supporters.
Obasa was removed from his position on January 13 while out
of the country, over allegations bordering on gross misconduct and abuse of
office.
He was replaced by Mojisola Meranda, who was Obasa’s deputy.
