Dele Odule, the Nigerian actor famous in the Yoruba film industry, has opened up about the most heart-wrenching moment of his life.

In an interview with another actor Kunle Afod, Odule shared that the saddest day of his life was when he lost his first child.

The 63-year-old actor described the moment he received the news as “very hard” on him, particularly due to the circumstances surrounding the child’s birth.

Although Odule did not disclose the details, he said he accepts it as the will of God and prays never to face such a tragedy again.

“The saddest moment in my life was when I was told my first child died. It was very hard on me,” he said.

“It was hard because of the situation surrounding the child’s birth. It was very hard on me but no one can question the authority of God. It was so bad and I do not pray for such anymore.”

Odule also spoke about his family and career. He revealed that his children have a natural talent for the arts, with one showing potential in acting and another having a talent for singing.

He, however, emphasized the importance of education, stating that he would not allow his children to pursue acting until they have completed their studies and become independent.

“My children are naturally artistic. One of them has a talent for singing, while another shows potential in acting. However, I’ve made my passion for education clear to them, so they are currently more focused on their studies,” he said.

“I’m not sure if they may want to pursue acting in the future, but for now, I would not allow it. If any of them decides to act, it will have to wait until they have completed their education and become independent.”

Odule’s career in the entertainment industry spans over three decades. He began acting in a drama group called Oloko Theatre Group under the mentorship of Mukaila Adebisi.

His debut appearance in the industry was in 1986, and he rose to fame after starring in the movie ‘Ti Oluwa Ni Ile’. Since then, he has featured in over 200 movies.
