Dotun Kayode, the on-air personality (OAP) better known as Do2dtun, has called out Soundcity, the music-based channel, over alleged unpaid salaries.

In a series of X posts on Wednesday, the OAP claimed the music station has failed to pay its staff for eight months.

Do2dtun also questioned how Soundcity’s staff have managed to cope with the situation.

“My friends and colleagues at Soundcity, how do you guys cope? No salary for 8 months? Mehn that’s crazy!!!!” he wrote.

In another post, Do2dtun, who was once the host of Soundcity’s greatest countdown on earth radio show, described the station’s actions as “cruel and inhumane”.

The radio host of Cool FM also argued it is unnecessary to run a station if staff salaries cannot be paid.

“It’s not by force to open a radio station. Owing your staff for 8 months is very cruel and inhumane. You don’t need a soothsayer to tell you this,” he wrote.

Several social media users also joined Do2dtun in criticising Soundcity’s “treatment of staff”.

The popular Nigerian lifestyle and music channel has yet to respond to Do2dtun’s allegations.

Soundcity is a pan-African urban music TV channel that showcases music videos, live performances, news, and interviews with popular acts. The channel has been associated with several well-known personalities, including Moet Abebe and Denrele Edun.

Denrele Edun, a former employee of Soundcity, had a controversial departure from the station in 2011. In a 2014 interview with Rubbin Minds, the media personality revealed that he “was forced out of the station”.
