President Bola Tinubu has called for peace and unity in the country, stressing that regardless of different political inclinations, Nigerians are one.
Tinubu made the call on Tuesday when he commissioned the
Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex, BATTIC, at the headquarters of
the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Abuja.
The President stated that Nigerians are all occupants of one
building who are only living in different rooms.
Tinubu arrived at the Nigeria Immigration Service
headquarters in Abuja to unveil BATTIC and was received by the Minister of
Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi
Nandap.
BATTIC comprises the Command and Control Centre (regular
migration), NIS Data Centre, ECOWAS Biometric Card Production Centre, Interior
Data Centre and a 0.5KW solar power plant.
According to Nandap, BATTIC will ascertain the risk level of
persons entering the country, detect irregular migration patterns and monitor
unmanned borders in remote areas across the country.
She added that BATTIC is setting the benchmark to use
technology to secure the country’s borders and ensure the security of the
nation.
