In a statement on Tuesday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos
police spokesperson, said two of the suspects were arrested during a routine
stop-and-search on the Otedola bridge.
Hundeyin said men of the rapid response squad (RRS)
apprehended the suspects on October 15.
“Two suspects, Isah Amohullahi, 30, and Abubakar Isah, 32,
were arrested in a taxi on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, during a routine
stop-and-search on Otedola Bridge, found in possession of human tongues,” the
statement reads.
“Further investigations
led the operatives to the arrest of another suspect from whom the parts were
bought, Gbolahan Temidayo ‘m’, in Oyingbo Market, Lagos.”
The police spokesperson said investigations are ongoing,
adding that the suspects will be arraigned if found culpable.
In July, Josephine Adeh, the police spokesperson in the
federal capital territory (FCT), reported that a suspect was arrested with a
human skull and bones.
The suspect claimed he found the human parts while hunting
in a bush.
