Kano Pillars have lifted the suspension of their technical adviser, Usman Abdallah after a five-week suspension.

Prior to his suspension, Abdallah had signed a two-year contract with an option for a third, bringing his wealth of expertise to Sai Masu Gida.

Abdallah was suspended in February following poor results and an incident involving the fans after the team’s goalless draw against Bayelsa United on matchday 22 of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

During his suspension, assistant coach Ahmed Garba Yaro took charge of the team, with the ban extending into March.

The club announced on X, “All issues have now been resolved. Technical Adviser Usman Abdallah has returned after the misunderstanding with the fans and will lead the team for the remainder of the season. Welcome back, Gaffer!”

Regarding his two-year contract, the club’s media director, Abubakar Isah, clarified that the focus remains on the remaining matches of the season, with the contract situation to be addressed at the end of the 2024/2025 campaign.

Kano Pillars currently sit in eighth place on the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table, with 44 points from 31 matches.

Meanwhile, Remo Stars technical adviser, Daniel Ogunmodede, has emphasized his team’s determination to secure maximum points in the matchday 32 fixture against Rivers United.

The Sky Blue Stars currently lead the NPFL table with 60 points, while Rivers United, in second place, trail by eight points.

Ogunmodede believes that the matchday 31 victory over Enyimba will serve as a significant boost for his team.

“Every game we will give our maximum fight, every game is important to us no matter the position of the opposition. The next game against Rivers United won’t be any different. We will see how we can try and get the maximum points from the game,” Ogunmodede told Remo Stars media.

Remo Stars will face Rivers United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium on Sunday.

In the same vein, the management of Lobi Stars have debunked allegations that it sent thugs to attack players and officials of the club.

Reports surfaced on the social media that the players were attacked during training by thugs sent by the club’s management. Lobi Stars described the accusation as baseless and false.

“How can a management that has remained committed to the welfare of its players, ensuring that salaries and benefits are paid despite a less-than-satisfactory performance suddenly turn around to harm them? Such an insinuation is not only absurd but also maliciously fabricated to tarnish the image of the club,” a part of the statement read.
