The Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has cautioned district heads in his domain to be fair and just in the way they treat their subjects.

He gave the warning while delivering his Sallah message, shortly after observing Eid el-Fitr prayer at his palace in Zaria.

The Emir said there are frequent reports of injustice and maltreatment of subjects from various districts of the emirate.

“I have been receiving several complaints of unfair treatment by some district heads from people which does not speak well of the emirate.

“I hereby caution affected district heads to desist from such habits as stringent measures await defaulting traditional rulers,” he warned.

The Emir also tasked them to be vigilant and more security conscious while reporting suspicious movements to security agencies in their domains.

While congratulating Muslims on the Sallah celebration, the Emir emphasised on sustaining peace and stability among citizens.

Bamalli further stressed that security is a collective responsibility hence the need for maximum support and cooperation for security agencies.

The Emir enjoined parents to monitor the movements of their children and wards and ensure they provide them with both western and religious knowledge for a healthy society.
