Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) will take over power in Kano State in 2027.

Akpabio spoke on Thursday in Abuja, when he paid a visit to the Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado.

He said with the key roles being played by Senator Basheer Lado; Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, and the APC National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, APC chances of winning the state were very high.

Daily Trust reports that the state is currently under the control of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), with Abba Kabir Yusuf as governor.

“With Lado, the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, and National Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, Kano is already in the kitty of APC ahead of the 2027 general elections, “Akpabio said.

The Senate President also said since Senator Lado assumed office as President Tinubu’s adviser on Senate Matters, there has never been any leakage of official communications.

“Let me put on record that since Senator Lado’s assumption of office as Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on National Assembly (Senate Matters), we have not had a single leakage of private communication between the presidency and the Senate.

“So I want to thank you for upholding the tenets of what the government should be, what separation of powers is all about.,” Akpabio said.
