The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has tasked commanders and leaders of the various army formations across the country to join forces with other stakeholders to win the war against terrorism and insurgency.

The COAS made the call in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, on Tuesday during the opening ceremony of a four-day First Senior Command and Leadership Seminar, organised by the 4 Special Forces Command of the Nigerian Army, in Doma, the headquarters of Doma Local Government Area of the state.

Oluyede stated that in order to quickly win the war against terrorism, insurgency and other forms of crime in the country, it is important for the commanders to build on the existing collaborations with stakeholders.

“These stakeholders are pivotal to addressing the prevailing security threats within your areas of responsibilities.

Oluyede who was represented by the Chief of Training, Army, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Ndalolo, posited that the leadership seminar is designed to equip the army’s operational commanders and senior military leaders with the necessary skills and competencies required to uphold and protect the esteemed image of the Nigerian Army amid an increasingly complex security environment.

On his part, the Commander, 4 Special Forces Command, Doma, Major General Hilary Nzan, while welcoming participants, said the lectures for the seminar were carefully selected and designed to sensitise commanders on the ongoing transformation and innovation efforts of the Nigerian Army.
