Former Jigawa federal lawmaker, Muhammad Gudaji Kazaure, has expressed frustration over the lack of recognition for his anti-corruption efforts, lamenting that despite exposing financial misconduct, no action has been taken.
Speaking in a viral video after visiting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Kazaure stressed the need for political unity to tackle Nigeria’s mounting challenges.
He revealed that before meeting Atiku, political elders convened to discuss pressing national issues, noting that many politicians had abandoned the country’s development agenda.
“We gathered before visiting him because we believe all politicians must come together to find a lasting solution,” he said.
Reflecting on past efforts to expose corruption, Kazaure, who represented Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Constituency of Jigawa State in the 9th National Assembly, lamented that despite promises from the current administration, no concrete action had been taken.
“We have spoken out about corruption. We have revealed cases, but nothing has happened. Nobody has invited me, nobody has called me, and nobody even knows if I exist,” he said.
He reaffirmed his commitment to working with patriotic politicians, regardless of party affiliation, stating, “We don’t care which party anyone belongs to. Wherever our elders direct us, we are ready to follow.”
Kazaure also praised Atiku for his leadership, describing him as a father figure who prioritises Nigerians’ welfare.
He urged political leaders to unite in rescuing the country.
“This is a journey for all our political elders. Nigeria comes first, second, and third. We are ready to save this country in any way possible,” he affirmed.
