A member of the House of Representatives representing Abuja South Federal Constituency, Abdulrahman Ajiya, has approved the installation of new electricity transformers and solar street lights in 19 rural communities under his constituency.
Ajiya made this known when he received some village/district heads at his constituency office in Gwagwalada on Saturday.
He said the installation of the transformers was aimed at boosting power supply to rural communities facing electricity challenges over the years.
He listed the communities that the new transformers would be installed to include Dobi, Gwagwalada Area Council, Ashara in Kwali Area Council, Kiyi in Kuje Area Council and Kekeshi in Abaji Area Council.
He said, ‘’As part of our commitment of supporting our communities, we are also pleased to announce that Yangoji community has received the sum of N1 million to fix their faulty transformer at Anguwan Kara under Kwali Area Council.”
He said the 3rd phase of the distribution of 100 solar street lights, which he said has commenced, would cut across some locations that included Catholic Church Abaji, Dangara community, Bukpe community, Ayaura community cemetery, Unguwan Biri community, Mawogi community, Rimba and Rimba gwari communities, Barack community, Yewuti community, Wubo community, JIBWIS Masjid in Abaji, Chukuku community, Ibwa community and Zuba town.
