Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, has urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the Rivers State crisis by calling FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to order.

George warned that the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers could escalate and affect everyone if not addressed. He criticized Wike’s recent media outbursts, saying they undermine Tinubu’s administration.

“Unless the President is not telling us the whole truth, I don’t know why a minister would embarrass his administration publicly,” George said.

He accused Wike of overstepping his bounds, particularly with his impeachment threats against Governor Sim Fubara. “What is the meaning of ‘if they impeach Fubara, nothing will happen?’ Is Wike God?” George asked.

George, a retired military general, drew parallels to the Nigerian Civil War, warning of the dangers of unchecked conflict. “Rivers State is the center of our economic activity. If crisis starts, it will affect everyone, not just Wike,” he said.
