One of the wives of the slain leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) in Kwara State, Aisha, has recounted the tragic incident.

The MACBAN leader was killed by suspected assassins, who traced him to his residence at Oke-Ose, Ilorin and shot him at close range on the head.

He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions at Zango, Ilorin.

Speaking on the incident, Aisha, who could not hold back tears, said the deceased called her while coming home around 10:30 pm to come and open the gate.

“But when I got outside as his car was approaching, I saw two men with guns. One of them put on a white shirt while the other wore black. On sighting me, they pointed the guns at me and I ran back into the house. At this point, my husband attempted to reverse the car and escape but they met him and shot him dead,” she said in Fulani language.

The widow, whose account was interpreted by the Ardo of Ilorin South, Mallam Idris Ali Kawu, described the incident as devastating and called for help to assist the family.

She said her late husband has no elder or younger brothers and left an aged mother with six children.

“We plead for assistance from the government towards the education of his children and support for the family. We have no body except Almighty Allah,”she added.
